Guests are invited into their magical restaurant to choose their dream menu, consisting of a starter, main, side, dessert and drink. James Acaster is a genie and they have guests ranging from Louis Theroux to Teri Hatcher to Ovie Soko. What’s not to like?!2. The Sporkful This US podcast claims ‘It’s not for foodies, it’s for eaters’ - something we can totally get on board with! Host Dan Pashman digs into a wide range of topics with one goal: to learn about people through food. Which is probably the best way to learn. 3. GastropodA bit of an educational one for you! Recommended by our resident chef Ebbers, Gastropod looks at food from a science and history perspective - and it’s pretty fascinating stuff. Hosts Cynthia Graber and Nicola Twilley discuss everything from garlic to climate change as they try to understand the world through food. 4. The Kitchen Is On Fire‘Joyous crap chat’ according to their Twitter - and we've always got time for that. Restaurateurs James Ramsden and Sam Herlihy chat food and modern gastronomy amongst themselves and with other key figures from the industry. The podcast wrapped in 2020, but it's a good one to catch up on if you sometimes find the world of food just a bit confusing...5. Racist SandwichRacist Sandwich offers a slightly different perspective on food, and we’re here for it. On the podcast hosts Stephanie Kuo and Juan Diego Ramirez delve into the relationship between class, race and gender and the food industry in the US. A super interesting look at the links between food and politics. 6. Desert Island DishesThere are some dishes that just seem to stick in our memories. Chef and food writer Margie Nomura knows this, and on the podcast she talks to her guests about the dishes that stick in their memories. The Food Programme A cracking podcast from the BBC, The Food Programme aims to ‘investigate every aspect of the food we eat.’ From tea to the food of James Bond, there’s something for everyone.
